As mentioned in the movie, Snowman was the named the United States Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year in 1958. He also was the Professional Horseman's Association champion and the champion of the Madison Square Garden's Diamond Jubilee. In 1959, Snowman was named the first horse to win the Madison Square Garden's Open Jumper Championship two years in a row.
